DeathNap     |   home What is the friendslist? The friendslist is a list of usernames stored in slavanap any user with their name in this list can logon always even if the server is full. How is the friendslist useful to us? It will allow the users who you choose to always be able to login, friends and in our case users who like and share metal. But it would take forever to sort through all the users who share metal and those who don't? Right! So i will try to show you how you can make this task easier, and best of all if you are successful there will be much less need for continually banning users who just keep coming back with different names. Why? because they won't be able to login.....!!!! Here's how.......... Look for the file english.msg in your slavanap folder, right click it and select "Open with" or "Open" (depending on your system). You should get a popup, select Notepad or wordpad and press ok. The file will now open..... Look for the line that says USERLIMIT= Whatever you enter here the user will see when your server is full. For example you might want to enter: Friendslist Only! Like metal? send me your login nick: you@mail.com for an account. (Keep this message short some clients might cut the end of it) Important notes/tips: Users who want to logon your server will now email you with their username requesting an account for your server. (mostly metalheads if you get your message right). Its your job to add the names to your friendslist, you may also want to register their accounts to secure them. You might want to create a new email account soley for handling login requests. Keep your max user count down to a minimum this way your message will be seen by more users. Its safe to put your server on napigator without getting hundreds of unwanted users and this will allow more users to see your message. This will also make your server much more well known!!! Advantages: 1. No more repeat banning users on your server! 2. Pure metal network if all follow the example! 3. All your regular users can still login but not the unwanted users! 4. Advertise your server on napigator without all the traffic! 5. No more pop/rap on your server!!
