Its like a backstage pass, the list is buillt into the server software, usernames added to the list can always connect whether or not the server is full.

It is easier to manage than registered only and has less chance of causing implecations with other servers settings, because every server uses there own settings. Also registered only sometimes causes problems with users passwords.

Short answer: Because it is not a protocol complient client, firstly it blocks other clients from its remote queue (giving other WinMX users first priority in the queue).

Secondly because the prefered client is audioGnome and these 2 clients find it almost impossible to co-exist (It would be very hard to download anything at all). Even if you manage to get access using WinMX you may find it very hard to download because other clients do not support the message WinMX sends out to enter a remote queue (//WANTQUEUE)

Other recommended clients would be: Lopster, SunshineUN, Teknap, FileNavigator

You may get access to the friendslist only servers by clicking the respective Admins name next to the servers (If applicable), you must send your prefered login name and small list of favorite bands.
